Is your sleep pattern off?
Circadian Rhythm Sleep Awake Disorders
With this type of sleep disorder, patients have sleep patterns that are out of alignment with the way humans usually sleep at night. These can vary from delaying sleep a couple of hours at night/waking late in the morning (delayed sleep-awake phase) to having no rhythm whatsoever (irregular sleep-awake rhythm). Jet lag—having difficulty sleeping after crossing multiple time zones—also falls into this category.
Are you always tired?
Hypersomnias
Hypersomnias cause patients to be excessively sleepy, even at the most inopportune times (e.g., while working or driving). These include narcolepsy, where patients suffer from uncontrollable sleep attacks.
Do you have trouble falling asleep?
Insomnias
Patients living with a type of insomnia are unable to fall asleep or stay asleep or don’t feel well rested when they wake up. Even children can have an insomnia disorder.
Struggling with your CPAP?

Trouble breathing at night?
Sleep-Related Breathing Disorders
These patients have difficulty breathing while they sleep. This category includes conditions as common as snoring to more serious problems such as central sleep apnea, where the brain doesn’t send the correct signals to the muscles that control breathing.
Do you have unwanted movements?
Sleep Movement Disorders
Sleep movement disorders make it challenging for patients to fall asleep or stay asleep due to unwanted movements. These include restless leg syndrome, periodic limb movements and bruxism (grinding or clenching teeth while sleeping).
